I am not really seeing "more information" in there. You said "not based on a
scaled down thumbnail", yet https://community.kde.org/KWin/Window_Metadata
talks about window thumbnail previews (albeit not live updated previews)...

And the other things there, like "Task Manager Progress", have nothing to do
with the thumbnails. What's being described in "Task Manager Progress" over
there is what MS Windows provides since Windows 7 and is also available in
Canonical's Unity. But it's about the app icon in the task manager on the
panel, not the thumbnail that appears when hovering over the icon.

So, could you please elaborate what you mean with "not based on a scaled down
thumbnail"? Because https://community.kde.org/KWin/Window_Metadata does not
explain it.
