Some additional info:
WinRAR offers two possible ways to encrypt a RAR archive:

1. Encrypt only the file content, but display the file names when the archive
is opened.
Ark opens the archive, displays the filenames, the Test Integrity button is
disabled, no option to enter the password.
This is the behavior described in the opening post.

2. Encrypt file content and file names.
In this case Ark behaves as expected. The user is asked for the password when
the archive is opened, the Test Integrity button is active.
