--- Comment #7 from Nate Graham <[email protected]> ---
Here's the problem:

Mär 03 08:57:07 USER sddm-helper[4446]: Failed to take control of "/dev/tty1"
("USER"): Operation not permitted
Mär 03 08:57:07 USER sddm[1517]: Greeter session started successfully
Mär 03 08:57:07 USER sddm-helper[4390]: [PAM] Closing session
Mär 03 08:57:07 USER sddm-helper[4390]: [PAM] Ended.
Mär 03 08:57:07 USER sddm[1517]: Auth: sddm-helper exited with 5
Mär 03 08:57:07 USER sddm[1517]: Greeter stopped. SDDM::Auth::HELPER_TTY_ERROR

It's not clear why it's not permitted, but that's the thing to dig into. Since
you're using SDDM, this isn't a KDE problem; it'll be either an issue in SDDM,
or in your system's configuration. I don't know enough about Nix to be able to
help out, but other Nix folks might be able to.

Best of luck troubleshooting! if you need any guidance,
https://community.kde.org/Troubleshooting might be helpful.
