SUMMARY
The power widget in KDE Plasma has a setting to block the display from locking
and the computer from going to sleep. When this setting is enabled, the
widget’s icon changes to a lock symbol.
However, the lock icon currently appears only when the computer is plugged into
power, which is counterintuitive. The lock icon should be displayed when the
computer is running on battery power, as this is when users are most likely to
want to monitor or manually control power-saving features.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
- Open the power widget in the system tray.
- Enable the setting to block display locking and sleep.
- Observe the widget icon when the computer is plugged in (lock icon appears).
- Unplug the computer and switch to battery power (lock icon disappears).
OBSERVED RESULT
The lock icon appears only when the computer is plugged in, which is the
opposite of the expected behavior.
EXPECTED RESULT
The lock icon should appear when the computer is running on battery power,
indicating that the user has manually overridden power-saving settings.
