Bug ID: 517506
Summary: It would be nice if the margin & sizing behavior of
the Application Launcher was more controllable
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.6.2
Reported In:
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: Application Launcher (Kickoff) widget
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected], [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
SUMMARY
It would be nice if the margin & sizing behavior of the Application Launcher
was more controllable. Currently, whether the application launcher icon has any
margin between the icon and the edge of the panel feels very random. See
attached screenshot for situations where that can turn out to look rather
weird. It would be nice if additional to the current "automatic" behavior,
there were other vertical sizing options like "no spacing", then something like
"X% of vertical panel size", and perhaps "X pixels of vertical margin".
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. See screenshot using "Expose" plasma theme and a custom activity launcher
icon
OBSERVED RESULT
The margin between the icon and the panel's edge, as well as the icon's
vertical size, feels pretty random and uncontrollable. The "Configure
Application Launcher..." settings don't seem to have anything to change that.
EXPECTED RESULT
The "Configure Application Launcher..." has some setting to control the margin,
if the user wants to specify it rather than to use the current automatic
behavior.
