Bug ID: 517516
Summary: KDE touch keyboard improvements for convertible
laptops
Classification: Plasma
Product: Plasma Keyboard
Version First unspecified
Reported In:
Platform: CachyOS
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: minor
Priority: NOR
Component: general

Target Milestone: ---
This is a general feature request for a few annoyances I have with the Plasma
OSK on my Latitude 5300 2-in-1. If rolling multiple features in one report is
bad, uhh, let me know or something.
There should be an option to only enable the virtual keyboard in tablet mode.
So when you attach a physical keyboard, the virtual keyboard stops working on
purpose, and when you remove the keyboard, it pipes up again.
There should be a mode where the keyboard DOES NOT automatically show up when
focused on a text field, until you tap the text field, a-la Windows or a mobile
OS.
I assume this is in development, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how
to add a horizontal margin, or even just resize the keyboard, when in tablet
mode.

I will also be filing suggestions for other parts of the shell in touch mode,
but they are not related to the keyboard.
