--- Comment #4 from pc <[email protected]> --- The earliest version of KMyMoney I have used in ernest is v5.2.1. Over on the KDE KMyMoney forums in topic https://discuss.kde.org/t/wrong-starting-balance-in-reconciliation-kmymoney/39709/15 it has been suggested that v5.2.1 would behave correctly. As far as I am aware there are no stored binary (Linux AppImage or Windows .exe) for v5.2.1 that I can download to try. However, I have a machine running Ubuntu 2024.04.4, which has a deb version of KMyMoney 5.1.3-1build15. I have now repeated the steps I used with KMyMoney 5.2.2, with this KMyMoney 5.1.3-1build15 version. I have attached screenshots of this as the file "reconcile_date_test_v5.1.3.pdf". I have set out the screenshots in this document on the same pages as those used in the original document ("reconcile_date_test.pdf") that captured the behaviour using KMyMoney v5.2.2. This should make the comparison between the two documents easier. I trust this will be helpful. I will also attach the file "test_debug_05_after_reconcilations_v521.kmy" that is the final data file after completing all of the steps in the v5.1.3 "reconcile_date_test_v5.1.3.pdf" using KMyMoney v5.2.1 My top level summary is: Using KMyMoney v5.1.3 everything has worked as expected. This was not the case with KMyMoney v5.2.2 that had significantly different “incorrect/unexpected” behaviour. In more detail: If you have uncleared account data entries before the date of the previously completed reconciliation, in KMyMoney v5.1.3: 1. The “Reconciliation Wizard” “starting balance” was always correctly the previously completed reconciliation value. 2. No previously reconciled account data entries after these uncleared data entries appeared in the account data entries during the reconciliation process. The KMyMoney The reconciliation wizard handbook section states that this is the correct behaviour “it only shows transactions that have not already been marked as reconciled”. 3. During the account reconciliation process all previously shown account “Reconciliation” values were correctly shown. 4. After the account reconciliation process has been completed all previous “Reconciliation” values were still present and correctly shown. I have read the KMyMoney manual section related to the reconciliation process at: Chapter 14. Reconciliation. The behaviour of KMyMoney 5.1.3 follows this as expected, unlike KMyMoney v5.2.2. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
