Bug ID: 517746
Summary: Tablet mode doesn't work on KDE Plasma 6.6.x for me.
Classification: Plasma
Product: kwin
Version First 6.6.2
Reported In:
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: wayland-generic
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
I'm on Fedora 43 KDE Plasma with the 6.6.2 Kde plasma version and the 6.19
kernel.
When I don't activate the "tablet mode only" option, there's no problem. I
fully fold the screen, and the rotation works; I rotate the screen left, right,
up, and down, and it changes automatically. However, the keyboard and touchpad
remain active. When I activate the "tablet mode only" option, I fold the
screen, and nothing happens. I rotate the screen in all directions, nothing.
However, the keyboard and touchpad remain active. Strangely, I run the
"monitor-sensor" command in the terminal, and when the "tablet mode only"
option is activated, and I fold the screen and move it in all directions, the
terminal returns accelerometer readings. For your information, I have a Medion
Akoya E322X convertible laptop. I have the same problem on another model of the
same brand, the Medion Akoya E229X.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Enable the "tablet mode only" option in the parameter settings.
2. fold the screen completely.
3. Turn the screen in all directions.
OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens, the screen seems locked.
The keyboard and the touchpad works when the screen is folded completely.
EXPECTED RESULT
When the screen is folded, the screen must change (turn down) and can be turn
in all the directions.
The keyboard and the touchpad must be disabled.
