Devanagari 12 thumbnail file.

SUMMARY
I'm having the exact same problem as the person in this Reddit thread:
https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/10q6xeq/usingopening_dolphin_gives_me_endless_kioslave5/

To confirm:
Hovering over JPG file in Dolphin causes kioslave5 crashes.
Hovering over a parent directory with JPGs inside causes kioslave5 crashes.
Hovering over PNGs does not cause this problem.
Cannot view any image files with Gwenview, because it also crashes.
Libraries GIMP depends on are failing and preventing it from loading any
images.
I can, however, load images with KolourPaint (KDE image editor).
I can also load images with Firefox, display and ImageMagik

What makes my problem unique is I am using Devanagari UNICODE characters in my
filenames and the problem started when I stopped using underscores to separate
words and switched to spaces and dashes, and then added parenthesis. The first
set of parenthesis didn't seem to cause a problem, but then I decided to change
every file in one directory to have parenthesis and was moving downward through
each file changing it to use parenthesis when kioslave5 started having repeated
crashes. I created a test user and logged in with it to see if I could view a
PNG file and was not able to, so this problem is occurring at the system level.

What is nice is I have all the files I used backed up to Google Drive with
public access so you can download the files and reproduce the error.

Here is the highest available parent directory:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1L9A2njp4phQ0BrPyIeCwscv4fHfZJs1Q
(नेपाली_३_शीतकालीन_सत्र)

Here is the subdirectory where the problem started:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/19yrtFamrg4sH_3z_od9DpEdMB1pOTyaF
Here are the file names:
(Notice the last file is just a txt file, which is not affected- I can open and
view it fine.)

If you download that top directory and view it in Dolphin you can go to this
directory and run the mouse over the directories containing JPG files and
reproduce the problem:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/15NI3_YlCC_sGP2-9kDSpU4AEIkfO0-Nj?usp=drive_link

However, once it starts you can go to any directory containing JPG files and
hover over them and kioslave5 crashes for each one. They don't have to have
Devanagari UNICODE characters in them. So the problem is at the root level,
some system files kioslave5 is using are corrupt.

If I could fined those files and fix them and remove the parenthesis that
causes the first crash and subsequent corruption I would. It is also possible
this is just an update that is affecting all file types and my Devanagari
UNICODE filenames are not the problem.

Since my strongest intuition tells me its the Devanagari file names with
parenthesis and the thumbnails that started it I'm attaching one file from the
thumbnails cache directory.

There are two possible related things I did in the day the problem occurred.
I installed Oracle Virtual Box, setup a Windows 10 VM, installed iTunes, shared
a directory from my Linux host, used that as my iTunes Media directory, moved
the music subdirectories to my ~/Music directory, and then replaced the Music
directory under iTunes Media with a link pointing to the Music directory under
Home. All the music files in Dolphin have nice thumbnails, but I noticed a
Thumbnails.db file probably created by iTunes in the first sub-sub-folder, and
a second empty file. I believe these are created by iTunes. I don't know if
this related, but possible.

I also removed snapd and a firefox under snap that installed behind my back
since I use a regular apt installed /local/bin firefox in my regular root
system. I also took additional steps to block further snap installs. I don't
know if this is related but possible.

I also have a VPN kill switch setup. Don't know if this is related, but
possible if kioslave5 is doing network stuff.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10 (VirtualBox VM- may be related, but probably not)
Linux/KDE Plasma: Ubuntu 24.04
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.12
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.115.0
Qt Version: 5.15.13
I'm installed some Qt 6 libraries required to compile Birdtray for Thunderbird

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Unfortunately I am a relatively new Kubuntu user. It has worked great, but I
originally wanted to run something lighter, but I was moving from Ubuntu, so I
decided to give Kubuntu a try. I can't afford to have this problem though, so
I'm backing up my system to an external hard drive today and probably going to
wipe Kubuntu this weekend and install Lubuntu unless this problem clears up
before then.

My idea is to install Lubuntu as the host and setup a Lubuntu VM dedicated to
traditional UNICODE filenames and if a similar problem happens again I can just
kill the machine and not use those characters without it messing up my whole
system

(I have no problem with these characters on multiple online cloud platforms,
and multiple mobile device platforms and multiple apps.)

However, it could be that an update caused this. But separating out the most
likely culprit in a VM might help.
