STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Press a volume key, change screen brightness, or switch keyboard layout.
OBSERVED RESULT
The OSD always appears horizontally centered at approximately 2/3 down
the screen. There is no setting in System Settings or kwinrc to change
this position.
EXPECTED RESULT
The user should be able to configure where OSD windows appear on screen.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This affects all OSD types simultaneously since they share the same
placement logic in src/placement.cpp (placeOnScreenDisplay).
See also bug 507695 where Nate Graham noted that OSD behavior changes
should be considered globally for all OSD types.
