            Bug ID: 517836
Summary: Search doesn't correctly find new files
    Classification: Applications
           Product: dolphin
      Version First 25.12.3
       Reported In:
          Platform: Fedora RPMs
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: minor
          Priority: NOR
         Component: search
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

new file is not shown with original search string

When already in the search window, already having typed a string there are
several issues with probably the same cause when and a new file is added
1. the new file doesn't show up. Only when the search string is changed, it
does show up
2. when the search string is changed to how it was before, the new file will
vanish from the view again! (see video)
3. when deleting a file shown in the search window, it will still show up for a
short time in the search window

MY STEPS TO REPRODUCE
0. open a search that finds a particular SVG file
1. open that SVG file and export it as PNG with the same name
2. go back to the search window

EXPECTED RESULT
It might be that it is not feasible to "live" update the shown files when files
are added/removed by another application, but at least point 2 is definitely a
bug (while point 3 is at least a cosmetic defect plus would enable an extremely
fast user to try to delete a file that doesn't exist).
