Disclaimer:
To be honest, I still couldn't envision how to resolve this from a UI
standpoint, but the reasoning for the request is this:
I think built-in effects are a great thing for users that usually need to
transform videos, no question about it.
But many times, we want to transform clips after they've been processed by the
whole effects stack, and not as the first step of the stack. Of course we can
add a new Transform effect at the end of the stack and that would solve the
need.
But I'm issuing this request thinking mainly on practicality (and to be able to
give more uses to an already present feature).
So, as we already have an ever present Transform effect at the top of the stack
(but can't be moved), I wondered if there could be a simple way of telling
Kdenlive to process it at the end of the stack, instead of at the beginning of
it.
Perhaps a switch at the effect header could allow for that?
What I still don't fully visualize, from a UI point of view, is if the fact
that the effect remained at the top of the stack while having effect at the end
of the stack would be acceptable (and not very confusing) to users or if, on
the other hand, it should also move to the end of the stack when the switch is
toggled (in that case I guess the button would need to be placed at the stack
header to prevent it from jumping together with the Transform effect).
In this last case, there would be other things to resolve as well, like how to
handle the change in position of the effect for it to be at the end of the
stack, depending on widget size, etc.
It would be interesting to know what others think about it.
OK, I threw the bomb and now smoothly walk away... 😅
