ExpressKey configuration under X11 vs Wayland
SUMMARY
The new Wayland-only menu for configuring tablets does not show a graphic for
the Wacom ExpressKey remote (used by tablets such as the Cintiq Pro line and
Wacom 27QHD). The remote has 18 physical buttons on it in addition to the
touchwheel, so it is very confusing to configure without an indicator of which
button is which. Additionally, the mapping does not match those under X11.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the drawing tablet menu on Wayland
2. Switch to the "pad" tab
OBSERVED RESULT
A list of buttons labeled 1 through 18 with no indication of where they map to
on the physical device.
EXPECTED RESULT
Some graphic to indicate which button is which one on the device.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: 6.19.8-arch1-1
KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.24.0
Qt Version: 6.10.2
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Users cannot easily use their existing X11 layouts as the buttons' labels have
moved around. For instance, button 7 on X11 (bottom left button of the remote)
is now labeled button 17.
