Summary: Firefox Flatpak doesn't have access to "recent files"
in KDE file picker
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.4.5
Reported In:
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
SUMMARY
Can't select "recent files" in the file picker when using the Firefox Flatpak.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Using the Firefox Flatpak and Plasma desktop:
1. Go to a website where you can upload a file
2. In the KDE file picker, go to "Recent files" and pick one of them, click OK
OBSERVED RESULT
You'll get an error message like
`The file "recentlyused:/files/1774610191695004.png-3" could not be found`
EXPECTED RESULT
File should have been selected and uploaded. Note that the the file can be
uploaded when manually locating it in its folder in the file picker. Just not
through "Recent Files".
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:
KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.24.0
Qt Version: 6.10.2
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I asked AI and suggestions were do allow Firefox read-only access to
"~/.local/share/recently-used.xbel" or allow it talk to the session bus
"org.freedesktop.portal.RecentFiles", but those both don't work.
