Does the behavior change if you disable hardware acceleration? Settings → Configure Krita → Display → Canvas Acceleration, uncheck the box that says "Canvas Graphics Acceleration", then restart Krita. And you specified that you're using Krita 6.0.1, does this also happen on Krita 5.3.1? Or vice-versa, if you didn't put in the correct version.
