Bug ID: 519980
Summary: Deleting Items on mounted external, hard drives takes
forever when done from GUI.
Classification: Applications
Product: dolphin
Version First 25.04.3
Reported In:
Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
I have big encrypted HDD Harddrives mounted via Veracrypt.
Moving Files, Deleting, Writing all works fine from Terminal
Moving Files, Writing Files works fine from Dolpgin GUI.
Problem:
When trying to move Files to Trash by hitting the "del" Key in Dolphin or
right click --> move to trash it will simply have the job in the down right
corner for HOURS even with very small (few kilobyte) files.
Terminal "rm -v ’same file’" works fine.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Mount big encrypted HDD via Veracrypt
2. Try to move even the smallest file to trash using Dolphin
3. Job takes hours to finish
OBSERVED RESULT
moving to trash finishes after hours if at all
EXPECTED RESULT
moving to trash takes a time relative to the file size and disk speed
