I tested with a test user and started with an empty home directory. So all settings should be the default; I just disabled “Save history across desktop sessions”. Now that I looked at it again, I noticed that the clipboard is actually *not* empty – at least according to the “Clipboard Contents” tray applet. Initially I did not notice, because there is only a single empty entry.
