--- Comment #9 from [email protected] --- Closing the loop on this: turned out to be a hardware fault in the M27Q X. Confirmed by disconnecting the DisplayPort cable from the GPU — the panel continued to display visual artifacts with no signal reaching it, which isolated the cause as internal to the monitor. Replaced the display on the same Plasma 6.6.4 / KWin 6.6.4 / Mesa 26.0.6 / kernel 7.0.2-2-cachyos stack and the symptom is fully gone. Zamundaaa's assessment in comment 8 was correct. The symptom pattern (not captured in framebuffer, dramatically worse on HDMI vs DP, byte-identical DTN state across captures while pulsing was visible) didn't fit the typical failing-panel profile, which is why this was originally filed here rather than at drm/amd.
