DESCRIPTION
So I installed Dolphin from Flathub. It worked great. Then I also
discovered it as a system package and, unfortunately, installed it as well. As
a result, Dolphin #1 lost some functionality or stopped working properly. And
Dolphin #2 isn’t working right either, but I don’t know how it’s supposed to
behave. I’ve of course uninstalled and reinstalled it, but that doesn’t help.
Some files or entries are obviously left behind and become active again during
a reinstallation. It’s probably some kind of configuration file that KIO needs.
But I don’t know my way around your system well enough for that.
The current version from Flathub is 25.12.0 with KDE Frameworks 6.24.0.
The one from the system package is 25.04.3 with KDE Frameworks 6.13.0.

In any case, I’m not familiar enough with your setup to know what I need to
purge and manually delete so that no vectors are pointing to locations where
nothing remains.

How do I get all of that out again and essentially return to the state before
the first Dolphin installation—that’s really the question.

With Dolphin, it’s so easy to mount the EFI partition that I often work on,
among other things, and under Windows you can also access it with the Windows
version of Dolphin, which is why I’m so interested in it. It’s definitely a
great program.

Since I somehow think this isn’t just happening to me, it would of course be
nice if there were a routine to clean this up. Is there such a thing?

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. On Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE), first install Flathub with the
available additional tools for root privileges and access, and then install
Dolphin from the system package. Unfortunately, this results in a mess, at
least for me.
2.
3. I think you know what I mean and why this is happening; for anyone familiar
with the internals, this should be obvious.

OBSERVED RESULT
Evolving, dynamic software.

EXPECTED RESULT
Software that does what it’s supposed to and doesn’t constantly change its
behavior.

SOFTWARE/OPERATING SYSTEM VERSIONS
Operating system (available in the Info Center app or by running `kinfo` in a
terminal window):
KDE Plasma version: I don’t know about this one
KDE Frameworks version: 6.13.0 and 6.24.0
Qt version: 6.8.2 and 6.10.2
