Crimea displayed as separate country
When I select “Time Zone” and click on Ukraine, it shows the territory of
Ukraine without Crimea. However, when I select Crimea, it appears as a separate
entry that is not associated with any country.
Crimea has been part of the Ukrainian SSR since 1954. After Ukraine declared
independence in 1991, Crimea remained part of Ukraine. Although Russia occupied
Crimea in 2014, it is still internationally recognized as part of Ukraine. This
position has also been reaffirmed by a UN General Assembly resolution stating
that Crimea belongs to Ukraine
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations_General_Assembly_Resolution_68/262
).
Within Ukraine, Crimea is an autonomous republic. However, this status refers
to a level of administrative autonomy and does not imply that Crimea is a
separate entity from the country.
Therefore, I believe Crimea should not be displayed as a separate entity, since
international organizations continue to recognize it as part of Ukraine.
Thanks!
