I tested this with a per share definition of 'server smb encrypt = required' on
a Raspberry Pi server:

[Test]
  comment = <comment>
  path = /tmp
  server smb encryt = required
  browseable = yes
  read only = no
  guest ok = no

In Smb4K, the setting 'Mounting' > 'Advanced Mount Settings' > 'SMB protocol
version' is set to 'default (Negotiate the highest version)'.

Both mounting through Smb4K's network neighborhood browser and the mount dialog
was successful and I could not reproduce the behavior you reported. Are there
maybe other settings in the smb.conf file that influence the mounting?
