DESCRIPTION

Linux is marketed as a private and secure system, but KDE does everything it
can to put your data at risk!

The “Purpose” feature is built into the KDE shell, which means that on any
distribution, the “Upload to Imgur without registration” feature is enabled by
default in some programs.

The “Share” list includes many services, but all of them require registration
or entering an account, which prevents accidental leaks of personal data such
as screenshots of documents.

However, a user may ACCIDENTALLY click “Upload to Imgur” (and such cases have
been described here).

Why can’t you disable the “Share” feature in KDE settings, or at least enable
only the services you actually use (for example, just Bluetooth and Google
Drive)?

Why, in the settings of Dolphin or Gvenwiew (and other software), can I only
remove the “Share” button from the toolbar—thereby losing ALL sharing
capabilities—instead of just disabling the risky Imgur?

And even after removing the share function from the panel, I’m still worried
that it’s still there and that accidentally pressing a keyboard shortcut will
send my screenshot to Imgur without me noticing.

Why do we even need Imgur? It changed its API, as far as I know. Oh well. Just
remove it from KDE, please.

The ideal solution I see is to let users CHOOSE ONLY THE SERVICES THEY ACTUALLY
USE! We need a feature that lets us COMPLETELY DISABLE this Imgur from the
system. Why is this mess included by default?

I really ask that you remove this Imgur from KDE or provide the option to
DISABLE it GLOBALLY in the system.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Just open some KDE-soft like Dolphin or Gvenwiew.
2. Click Share-button

OBSERVED RESULT

You see function "Upload on Imgur without registration"

EXPECTED RESULT

Provide the option to DISABLE it GLOBALLY in the system Imgur-share function.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Everyone Linux distro with KDE Plasma

KDE Plasma Version: 6.6
