I am not a KDE Developer. I am a KDE user. I can replicate this behavior. This is a bug. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1) Open KDE Dolphin. 2) Go to Configure > Configure Dolphin or Settings > Configure Dolphin. Navigate to Interface > Folder & Tabs > Split View. Change the value of "When Closing a split view" to "Close the right pane". Click on Apply button and then click on OK. 3) Navigate to $HOME/Documents directory. 4) Press F3 to split the window or use the menu option View > Split 5) In the right hand side pane navigate to $HOME/Downloads or any other directory, which is different than the one given in Step 3. 6) The focus should be on the right hand side pane which was opened in Step 5. 7) Click on the Close button OBSERVED RESULT The left hand side pane is closed. EXPECTED RESULT Only the right pane should be closed.
