Description:
Two related usability issues with the Map Search view:
Issue 1: No date filter in Map Search view
The Map Search view shows all geolocated images regardless of date. The Right
Sidebar Filters tab (Properties) does not include a date filter. Date filtering
is only available via Tools → Advanced Search or Browse → Search, but these do
not interact with the Map Search view.
Issue 2: No split view combining map and thumbnails
When browsing via Map view (top toolbar), selecting an image switches away from
the map — there is no way to define a geographic area on the map and
simultaneously browse thumbnails of images taken there. The current
implementation forces a choice between map view and thumbnail view with no way
to use both together.
Requested features:
- A date range input (from/to) directly in the Map Search sidebar panel.
- A split view mode where the map and thumbnail area are visible
simultaneously, allowing the user to define a search region on the map and
browse the matching images without losing the map context.
