--- Comment #4 from [email protected] --- Thanks for taking a look. That does sound related. In my case, the behavior appears to be inconsistent depending on how authentication is handled. What does not work is normal authenticated browsing. For example, browsing to the server and selecting a share either results in no authentication prompt or an error stating that the share does not exist. I also tested after resetting KWallet and recreating the wallet, with no change in behavior. One thing that may help narrow it down is that my SMB server is ZimaOS. I’m not sure if the way it manages Samba shares differs from a standard Samba configuration, but all non-KIO SMB clients are able to authenticate and access the same shares successfully.
