The problem remains under Fedora KDE 44 (and Kubuntu 26.04) when the path is
relative. The bug does not happen when the path is absolute. The bug does not
happen with Okular (even when the path is relative).

These are the commands that were used to make the test files:

    wget
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/17/PNG-Gradient_hex.png/500px-PNG-Gradient_hex.png
    echo -e '# This is a test \n\nA test \n\n![An image should appear
