            Bug ID: 521005
Summary: KDE apps restoring wrong window size after closing
                    multiple horiz/vert resized windows
    Classification: I don't know
           Product: kde
      Version First unspecified
       Reported In:
          Platform: Kubuntu
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

DESCRIPTION
KDE apps seem to save window width and height as separate settings, causing
them to partially save the size when they're resized only vertically or
horizontally. This makes their new window open in wrong size. This applies to
multiple KDE apps that can open multiple windows and restore its size on start.
I've checked Dolphin, Kwrite, Kate, Konsole, Kcalc, Ark, Okular, Okteta so far.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a KDE Plasma app. For example, Dolphin.
2. Open another window of it so you have two windows.
3. Resize a window in vertical direction then close it. (drag the edges, not
the corners)
4. Resize the other window in horizontal direction then close it.
5. Open a new Dolphin window.

OBSERVED RESULT
The new window appears either too small or too big, as if its width and height
came from the two previous windows separately.

EXPECTED RESULT
The new window appears with the same size as the last closed window.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Kubuntu 26.04 LTS
KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.24.0
Qt Version: 6.10.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Also checked with KDE neon 20260528 version. (Dolphin, Kate)
