For example if I have a large volume of files I'm copying/moving into another folder, many of them might not exist, and thus the progress bar is needed as it actions the transfer until it hits the point where it needs to prompt me to overwrite/rename/etc. Perhaps the notification could not pulse back and forth, but instead state "Waiting for user response" or something similar.
