Summary: Plasma controller as mouse causes mouse to stick to
screeen edges and move erratically (new Plasma 6.7
bug)
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First master

Status: REPORTED

Target Milestone: 1.0
DESCRIPTION
After updating KDE Neon from Plasma 6.6.5 (issue does not occur) to Plasma
6.7.0, my nintendo switch pro controller now hijacks the mouse on screen. The
mouse sticks to the top/bottom/corners of the display and cannot be controlled.
Attempting to use my actual mouse is impossible until unplugging the
controller.
This issue does not occur on my other KDE Neon computer (in its case, an x86_64
desktop) but its kernel has the hid-nintendo driver installed. The game
controller as mouse functionality is enabled by default and works as expected
on it.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. plug in nintendo switch pro controller
2. controller initializes as hid-generic device (this particular kernel does
not have the hid-nintendo driver built)
3. observe erratic mouse movement and be unable to control the mouse on screen
OBSERVED RESULT
mouse is uncontrollable
EXPECTED RESULT
gamepad as a mouse functions correctly or does nothing at all
