DESCRIPTION
I'm using rclone to mount several Google drives. These mounts appear to be
detected as remote by KDE/Dolphin, but the remote preview settings are not
being respected.
See the attached screenshot, where:
- Dolphin "Remote storage" preview settings are set to "no file".
- Dolphin shows the mount points under the "Remote" heading in the side panel.
And yet previews are still being generated.
/g is mounted with the following command:
rclone mount gdrive: /g --vfs-cache-mode=writes &
Show previews (F12) toggles whether the icons are previews, but does not impact
preview generation.
This is problematic as it consumes bandwidth and slows to folder navigation
process considerably.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set remote storage preview setting to "no file"
2. Mount drive and navigate to folder

See the attached screenshot for an example. The 1.3MB file "block1_ears.png"
was pasted into the folder, and a short time later the preview is generated and
shown.
