That's correct, and this is for technical reasons; it's not an intentional UX choice. Because the Plasma X11 session is being removed in Plasma 6.8, it also means the issue will go away automatically over time, which means there's likely not going to be any appetite for spending resources to fix it. Unless you want to submit a patch!
