Summary: Application launcher steals focus from full-screen
game when pressing DualSense start button
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: krunner
      Version First 6.7.0
       Reported In:
          Platform: Fedora RPMs
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]

  Target Milestone: ---

DESCRIPTION
When playing a game in full-screen (or borderless window, not 100% which in
this case but leaning borderless) and pressing the start button on a
USB-connected DualSense controller, the KDE application launcher opens and
steals focus from the full-screen application.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Launch a full-screen application (I tried with PikuNiku on Steam)
2. Once running, try pausing the game by pressing the start button on the
DualSense

OBSERVED RESULT
The KDE application launcher opens and takes focus from the game

EXPECTED RESULT
The application launcher doesn't open and gameplay continues uninterrupted

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Fedora Linux 44
KDE Plasma Version: 6.7.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.27.0
Qt Version: 6.11.1
Kernel Version: 7.0.12-201.fc44.x86_64 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 24 × AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core Processor
Memory: 64 GiB of RAM (62.7 GiB usable)
Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Please note that this has a workaround: I was able to work around the issue by
disabling the "Allow using as pointer and keyboard" toggle in the Game
Controller section of System Settings. So at this point it's a minor
inconvenience but can trip people up if they don't go checking their system
settings.

Also, I didn't observe this behaviour in the previous version of plasma (which
I believe was 6.6.7)
