I had the same situation here. In my actual scenario, it is not that bad a
problem since I was simply remapping "wrong people tags" to "real people tags"
so in my workflow, I already grouped all photos I had to work with using a
dummy tag that I remove at the end. This means all those files will be
rewritten in the end when I remove this dummy tag.

On the contrary, if I do some random updates, I have no way of knowing which
file are off sync.
I think, when Lazy Synchronization is on, a flag should be added to the DB to
indicate that the file as changes pending.
