select newly created files option in pcmanfm-qt
DESCRIPTION
Please add an option to automatically select newly created files in Dolphin.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Dolphin to the "Dowloads" folder.
2. Open Kate and create a new text file containing your deepest secrets.
3. Save this new file as "foo.txt" in the Dowloads folder.
4. Look at your Dolphin window from step 1.
OBSERVED RESULT
The new file foo.txt is NOT automatically selected.
So to confirm creation in expected folder, you have to visually search it throw
all other files and folders already in the Dowloads folder.
Or you have to temporally sort by creation date, then sort back by preferred
criteria.
EXPECTED RESULT
The new file foo.txt is automatically selected, so its easy to spot and confirm
creation at expected location.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Kubuntu 26.04 LTS
KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.24.0
Qt Version: 6.10.2
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Install "pcmanfm-qt" to test this feature.
In PCManFM-Qt, the feature must be enabled in Edit -> Preferences -> Behaviour
-> Select newly created files.
(see attachment)
I consider this feature a must have.
I see a lot of "Lisa" users wanting to visually confirm they have saved a new
file at expected location.
When the destination folder already contains more than 10 files, this feature
saves a lot of time and brain power.
This is one of theses features you did'nt know you needed until you try it.
Then, you cannot go back.
