Bug ID: 522510
Summary: Task Manager leaves empty transparent gaps after
closing applications in Plasma 6.7.2 (Wayland)
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.7.2
Reported In:
Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Task Manager and Icons-Only Task Manager widgets
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
DESCRIPTION
Since updating to Plasma 6.7.2 under Wayland, closing an application from the
Icons-only Task Manager (or standard Task Manager) occasionally leaves an
empty, transparent ghost gap in the panel, showing only the panel background.
The panel layout does not recalculate or shrink to close the gap until
plasmashell is restarted or KWin is reconfigured.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open any application (e.g., Dolphin, Firefox, Konsole).
2. Close the application normally.
3. Observe the Task Manager area on the panel.
OBSERVED RESULT
The application icon disappears, but the container space remains empty, leaving
a transparent gap with just the panel background color.
EXPECTED RESULT
The Task Manager should immediately recalculate the layout, shrink the
container, and close the gap.
