            Bug ID: 522526
Summary: Wayland popup windows (e.g. Chromium/Brave autofill
                    dropdown) rendered invisible/unclickable when
                    heterogeneous-resolution monitors are aligned by
bottom edge instead of vertical center
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: kwin
      Version First 6.7.2
       Reported In:
          Platform: CachyOS
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: multi-screen
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

DESCRIPTION

When two monitors of significantly different resolutions are connected
and arranged in KDE's Display Configuration using "align bottom edges"
instead of "align vertical centers", Wayland popup surfaces positioned
via xdg_positioner (e.g. Chromium/Brave's autofill/password suggestion
dropdown) are created with invalid or off-screen coordinates. The popup
technically exists (confirmed via Chromium's password-manager-internals
page and the fact that the underlying stored password is correct and
accessible via the Password Manager UI) but is never visually rendered
and cannot be clicked.
This is not specific to Chromium/Brave — it reproduces with any
application whose small popup/context menus rely on xdg_positioner
relative anchor placement across the two outputs.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect two monitors with different resolutions, e.g.:
   - Internal laptop display: 1920x1080
   - External monitor: 3440x1440 (ultrawide)
2. In System Settings > Display and Monitor, arrange the two monitors
side by side, aligned on their BOTTOM edge (default/common arrangement).
3. Open Brave (or Chromium) and go to a page with a saved login form.
4. Click into the username/password field.

OBSERVED RESULT
No autofill suggestion dropdown appears. No error is logged. The
underlying autofill data is present and correct (verified in the
browser's password manager). This happens identically in native
Wayland mode and when forcing the app through XWayland
(--ozone-platform=x11), and identically on a completely fresh browser
profile with no extensions, ruling out an application-level cause.

EXPECTED RESULT
The autofill/password popup should render visibly near the focused
input field, regardless of monitor arrangement.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: CachyOS Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.7.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.27.0
Qt Version: 6.11.1
Kernel Version: 7.1.2-2-cachyos (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 8 × 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-1165G7 @ 2.80GHz
Memory: 24 Gio of RAM (23.0 Gio usable)
Graphics Processor: Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Re-arranging the two monitors in Display Configuration to align on
their VERTICAL CENTER instead of the bottom edge immediately and
reliably fixes the issue — the popup renders correctly again with no
other change.
Laptop: HP ProBook, internal display 1920x1080
External monitor: iiyama 34" ultrawide, 3440x1440
Browser tested: Brave (stable, 1.91.180) and bare Chromium — same
result on both, so this is not browser-specific.
