DESCRIPTION
When saving a web page, uploading or downloading a file using fiirefox, when
the open/upload/save dialog box appears, it will point to a place in the file
system, possibly related either to the last directory used to access a file or
the last directory accesses when transferring a file using that page. But if it
is not the right directory, I have to select it either by using arrow keys or
specific directory. Whereupon it can take upwards of 2-3 minutes before the
wait cursor stops and it switches to the selected directory. If imediately
moving to a different directory, such as a subdirectory, it will be another
several minutes kong wait before that is available.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to some website using firefox, or a file page on Wikimedia commons
2. Attempt to save page or download file
3. Try to switch to a different directory to save to
4. Spinning wait cursor sits for several minutes before chang directory
occurrs.
OBSERVED RESULT
Extremely long wait time

Typical time to switch directory in a file explorer, on the order of <3 seconds
