Picture of all GPUs usage being different from GPU1s usage. With just one GPU
in the system...
DESCRIPTION
This were notes to me, how to fix issues, but maybe they can be used, to
diagnose and fix the bug/s outright.
My System:
Bazzite 44
i7-12700K --> i5-14600KF
RX 7800 XT
32GB DDR4
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Get a system with a CPU with integrated GPU (Maybe only Intel, but do it for
both Intel and AMD) and a dedicated GPU.
2. Setup Systemmonitor and compare the sensors "All GPU usage" and the single
GPU usage sensors like "GPU1 usage".
3. Swap that CPU for a one without a GPU on the same die. Look if
Systemmonitor stops reporting GPU usage for single programs.
OBSERVED RESULT
- It seems, the numbering GPU1, GPU2 can get swapped.
If you got a integrated GPU on the CPU die, that may be GPU1 or 2 and may
swap at some point. IDK for sure, but I think I had that once. MAY also be,
because I took my GPU out and then the numbering swapped idk.
- Don't use the sensor for all GPU usage for the GPU usage display. Even if you
have only one GPU, that seems to show wrong data in comparison to let's say
CoolerControl. Wrong in the sense, that it is off by some 0 to 10%.
- If the program list down below does not show GPU usage of a single program,
edit the display of the GPU from the original to something else (like "GPU
Graph" to "GPU only text") and then back and it should be fixed. Worked for me,
seemingly because I remove my CPU with a integrated GPU.
EXPECTED RESULT
- If the numbering of GPUs swaps, it should detect that and also swap. Like I
know that is hard to do, but it would be optimal I think.
- The sensor for "All GPU Usage" should report the same as the "GPU1 usage"
sensor, if there only is one GPU installed.
- The Program list should always show, how much a program hits my GPU, even if
I remove one GPU from the system.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a
terminal window): Bazzite 44
KDE Plasma Version: 6.7.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.27.0
Qt Version: 6.11.1
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This were notes to me, how to fix it, but maybe they can be used, to diagnose
and fix the bug/s outright.
I am relatively new to Linux (At the start of 2026) and I generally don't know
much about app dev and bugreporting so I try to give much info and hope that
overcomes the lag of knowledge of me somewhat ^^
Good luck.
