Afaik, the problem is that the "impractical" extreme values were quite useful
with high, and very high, refresh rate monitors.
The current fastest option on the slider is extremely slow it your monitor has
more than 144hz, and losing the extreme values and granularity doesn't seem to
benefit the users nor the devs as maintaining more steps on a slider doesn't
need extra logic, just a slightly bigger array or going back to the steps based
code.
