Thanks for the suggestion. The maintainers will need to weigh in on this.

This shouldn't be difficult to implement, since the timeout can be manually
added to the rc file
It could make this animation more consistent with others, which the user can
configure the speed of. 

Honestly, I've wondered why I would bother customizing this on Solus, since it
only displays for a second. And users should be able to see this, since they're
able to set it. I suspect it's a leftover from the spinning disk era when
systems needed more time to boot, and as you say, modern hardware has changed
that.
