DESCRIPTION

EPUB2 covers don't seem to show up correctly in thumbnails, specifically the
mechanism described here under the heading "EPUB2" (scroll down, the navigation
on the left doesn't work for some reason):
https://kb.daisy.org/publishing/docs/epub/cover.html I'm referring to the <meta
name="cover"  .../> mechanism.

I found out simply because I have some books that don't seem to show their
thumbnail correctly, they show a generic book item, and when I looked inside
the content.opf file, this EPUB2 mechanism is what they seem to be using.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Get an EPUB2 book that uses the <meta name="cover" .../> for the book cover
image.
2. Open up dolphin and browse to the folder where the bok file is
3. Look at the thumbnail

OBSERVED RESULT

Thumbnails for EPUB2 files don't seem to be working, at least for some of my
EPUB2 books (I haven't checked all books whether they're EPUB2 and whether some
of them might actually be working).

EXPECTED RESULT

Thumbnails work for all EPUB2 and EPUB3 books.

terminal window):
