                    default output since Plasma 6.7.0
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: plasmashell
      Version First 6.7.0
       Reported In:
          Platform: Arch Linux
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Audio Volume widget
          Assignee: [email protected]

  Target Milestone: 1.0

DESCRIPTION
Audio Volume tray icon mouse wheel always controls the default output device
instead of the active playback output since Plasma 6.7.0

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have 2 audio output devices.
2. Select the onboard audio as default device
3. Start Audacious, from the volume's Applications tab select the dedicated
audio device as output for Audacious
4. Scroll mouse wheel over tray widget

OBSERVED RESULT
The mouse wheel always changes the volume of the default output device,
regardless of which device is currently playing audio.

EXPECTED RESULT
The mouse wheel changes the volume of the output device currently used by the
active playback stream, as it did in Plasma 6.6.5.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.7.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.27.0
Qt Version: 6.11.1
Kernel Version: 7.1.3-arch1-2 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The behavior changed after upgrading from Plasma 6.6.5 to Plasma 6.7.0.
Downgrading plasma-pa package to 6.6.5 fixes the issue.
Changing the default sink with pactl set-default-sink ... causes the mouse
wheel to control whichever sink is set as default, confirming that the tray
icon follows the default sink rather than the active playback sink.
