This is caused by the weather sources supported by the widget not including
data for the locations you're searching for.

KWeather uses data from the Norwegian Meterological Institute, which has very
very broad coverage. So there are plans to eventually migrate the weather
widget to that, and share back-end code with KWeather, too.

I'll mark this as a duplicate of the bug report tracking that, since it's the
most likely way the issue will be resolved.
