DESCRIPTION
I'm running a Wayland display on a high-DPI monitor with 210% scaling. I just
took an area selection of a PDF and saved it to file. When I view the resulting
image it appears to be significantly smaller and lower resolution than I
expected given the zoom factor I was using. In fact, the antialiasing in the
image doesn't even look right - it looks like the image might have gone through
a nearest-neighbour filter before being saved.
Full disclosure: I'm not certain it's the display scaling factor that triggered
this, but that's my top suspect, and the reduced resolution of the image looks
to be about if not exactly the same factor.
Easy enough to use Spectacle to work around this.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
(0. Have display scaling?)
1. Open PDF file.
2. Take area selection.
3. Save to image file.
There might be other ways to trigger, I haven't tried.
OBSERVED RESULT
Image is low resolution, also a bit jagged (like antialiasing was not right, or
like a nearest-neighbour scaling was used).
EXPECTED RESULT
Image at same resolution as the original displayed area that was selected.
