Yes, the report should be closed. I thought I had sent a message to you 
the day after I reported it. It appears that the program had some how 
become corrupted. I reinstalled it and it has been working great ever 
since. It is possible that there is some subtle bug that allowed the 
program to be corrupted, but without a specific reproducible scenario, 
there is no way that you or anyone else could fix it.

I greatly appreciate your prompt attention and followup to push the 
originator of bug reports to either provide additional info or to close 
things out. I apologize in not having responded to your earlier request.

Only one comment. Kate is a great editor. But even when specifying 
"normal", I find the the printing is very light and sometimes need to 
use Textpad on my Windows machine to make it easier to read. Obviously I 
could buy a new printer, but the two that I have work quite well for 
most of my printing. It is good that Kate attempts to conserve printer 
toner. But sometimes it is a bit too much.
