Hi all,
first of all thanks for Qrca, which brings "normal" mobile functionality to the
desktop :-)
However, there is a usability problem with basic/cheap webcams, in my case a
Logitech C270 HD. The camera can't focus objects that are very close (it's
intended to focus the user at maybe 40 cm distance). The problem is now that
if I try to scan a smaller code, it's not recognized, because it's too small
compared to the whole image. But if I move the code closer to the camera so
that it becomes bigger, it can't be focused anymore and becomes blurry – and
unreadable for that reason.
My proposal to fix this would be to introduce e.g. a zoom factor, so that only
a part of the camera's image is visible and processed. This way, one could
focus a code, but have it bigger compared to the whole image, so that it can be
recognized and processed.
Thanks a lot for considering implementing a fix for this, this would be a great
usability win.
