Night Light settings and issue
DESCRIPTION
Yesterday night i activated the automatic Night Light feature of Plasma, set up
a schedule based on sunrise to sunset automatically detected location and used
it good, then turned off the laptop early this morning (but still under Night
Light on). Later that day i turned on the laptop and as expected as it was day,
Night Light was off.
The problem is I just logged into my laptop today at about 18:20 after a period
of not being present at the laptop and possibly also fallen into sleep and i
noticed my screen was getting warmer... I checked and the schedule had started
transitioning... Idk why and how to find the problem, new user to Night Light
and first time issue....
I used Google Gemini to kinda find out what data might be useful... I checked
the Night Light data via DBus and Gemini said:
Root Cause Analysis via D-Bus (`org.kde.KWin.NightLight`):
- previousTransitionDateTime: 1786114800 (18:00:00 local time)
- previousTransitionDuration: 1800000 (30 minute transition)
- scheduledTransitionDateTime: 1786158000 (06:00:00 local time)
Upon resuming from sleep without immediate network connectivity, Night Light
fails to retain cached GeoClue coordinates and defaults to (0,0) (Equator
coordinates). This hardcodes a 18:00-06:00 transition schedule, causing Night
Light to immediately start transitioning at 18:00 local time regardless of
actual local sunset.
Idk if it-s hallucinating.
