Thanks for the explanation. I don't think this is in the cards as a general
thing. We haven't implemented it for panels, because we intentionally want to
defer to themes on the topic of opacity and blur, so it would be weird to offer
it for widgets.

I do get that there's a push-and-pull here, and "just use a different theme or
make your own" isn't a satisfying answer. But at the same time, if we add a
knob for every little thing, we've defeated the purpose of themability, at
least as currently constructed with SVG assets.
