When I follow my own steps, it doesn’t. My guess is that kate updates the directory's inode, because it creates a temp file and removes it upon saving. Steps to confirm this hunch: $ touch file1 file2 → select both files in Dolphin, it shows 0 B $ echo hello > file1 → Dolphin shows 6 B for file1 in the main view, but the status bar is not updated $ touch . → Dolphin updates the status bar -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
