Bug ID: 525177
Summary: Lesser performance compared to Breeze
Classification: Plasma
Product: Oxygen

So, this is a bit of a long shot, but I will try to make sense as much as I
can.
Sometimes I use Plasma under a virtual machine with Qemu, under macOS, from an
USB memory stick. Therefore there is no proper acceleration, and the
performance is not really good, to the extent that it is not very responsive to
immediate clicks, and animations are generally slow (I can inspect the window
opening animation easily), takes a longer time, and frames drop all the time.
However, Breeze is more or less usable for daily tasks, and even some taxing
tasks like compiling basic stuff. Things are responsive, albeit with a very
slight delay. Oxygen on the other hand, is not usable at all, the performance
is more or less 5x worse. Mouse rarely responds after a while.
I am not sure how I can present proper benchmarks, but the current situation is
like this.
